ABOUT ME
My name is Sheldon Herron and I am a music producer, sound designer and video essay enthusiast. Recently graduating from SAE Institute Oxford with a 2:1 BA (Hons) degree in Audio Production, I am looking to pursue a career in the context of my academic study.

I am 23 years old and located in Worcestershire. I currently spend my time working with solo artists by engineering and producing their music. I also take on live sound opportunities with local festivals and music events.
​
Playing the keys, learning new software, creating motion graphics, producing music or just saving the pennies to purchase a new synth is currently how I spend my time!
​
Below is a small portfolio of electronic music, I have composed and produced including an E.P. I have produced for a talented singer/songwriter, Ben Goodwin. Some tracks are not mixed or mastered.

EXPERIENCE
I have over 3 years of experience working with audio and music. Some previous positions involve the following.
Radium Audio
Studio Intern
My position as an intern for the Emmy award-winning company Radium has allowed me to explore audio and sound with great curiosity. Throughout the three month intensive position I had the pleasure of working alongside another like-minded intern as we ventured into projects involving synthesis, sound design, acoustics, developing new instruments, audio editing, field recording, foley, sound-to-picture, mixing and many other elements. The hands-on approach to this internship allowed me to be practical yet creative with my daily work, in which I thoroughly enjoyed this experience.

Recording and monitoring an opera performance at Magdalen College Oxford.
This role required quick thinking mixing techniques and the use of intuitive stereo microphone placement, alongside working professionally in a live setting.

Live sound technician at Cowley Road Carnival Oxford.
Managing a large stage and using creative microphone placement to give a large audience as much clarity as possible. Also providing a DJ entertainment service.

Live sound technician Thame Town music festival.
Miking and mixing live performances throughout the towns many venues.

Using professional audio equipment to create the best possible recordings I can achieve. Complex audio engineering terms i.e. Phasing and frequency considerations, acoustics, microphone placement and stereo techniques are all terms I've experienced through hands-on experience.

Using multiple programs, plugins and software to produce professional industry standard music. Experience in: Logic X, Ableton Live and Pro Tools.

Roadie position U2's Joshua Tree Tour Twickenham.
Setting up and dismantling the Colossal stage which included the biggest LED screen on earth.

Sound to picture and foley work.
Recording various sonic elements, from kids toys to smashing glass is part of my previous experience based around sound to picture work. Creative recording techniques alongside synthesis and sound design are also part of my workflow with various projects. Some previous sound to picture work can be seen displayed on this website.

TRAINBOMBING ANIMATION SOUND DESIGN & FOLEY.

The animation 'Trainbombing' was a silent clip, I took on the task of creating all sound effects and foley to bring the animation to life. All sound effects are created by re-sampling and processing audio samples in a creative way. This includes the use of reverbs, delays, EQ's and other audio manipulation techniques.
All musical elements are also created and composed using Logic X software by myself.
VIDEO ESSAYS
A university dissertation project based around how sound design techniques are used within motion picture to evoke a specific emotion.
All four video essays have been entirely produced and created by myself. All narration is recorded mixed and mastered alongside, music composition and sound to picture work. The visual elements of the project were done using adobe creative suite applications such as After Effects and Premiere Pro. A very time-consuming task spanning over six months, which included stages of research, preparation and development to create the final submission. The final result is a 2:1 BA (Hons).
